Clubs/Schools
At Handball Queensland, we believe that schools and clubs are the cornerstone of a thriving handball community. By introducing the sport to schools and supporting local clubs, we aim to provide accessible opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to experience the excitement of handball.
Our Schools Program is designed to bring handball to the classroom, introducing students to the fundamentals of the game in a fun and engaging way. Through our partnerships with schools across Queensland, we offer tailored sessions that fit within the curriculum or as part of extracurricular activities. Led by experienced coaches, these sessions focus on developing basic skills such as passing, shooting, and teamwork, while promoting physical fitness and cooperation.
Handball Queensland also provides schools with resources, including lesson plans and equipment, to ensure teachers feel confident in delivering handball programs. Whether it’s a single session or a term-long program, we’re here to support schools in fostering a love for handball among students.
For those who want to take their handball journey further, our Clubs Program offers pathways to join local teams. Clubs are the lifeblood of our handball community, providing regular training, social activities, and competitive opportunities for players of all levels. Whether you’re a junior starting out or a seasoned player looking to stay active, there’s a club for you.
Handball Queensland works closely with clubs to ensure they have the support and resources needed to grow. This includes access to coaching development, officiating courses, and promotional materials to attract new members. Clubs also play a vital role in hosting competitions and community events, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.
By connecting schools and clubs, we aim to create a seamless pathway for players to continue their handball journey. For more information on how your school or club can get involved, contact us at info@handballqld.com.au Let’s work together to grow handball in Queensland!
